Before Shine, she ran her own company.
Our founder ran her own company in Colombia for years — an industrial business, handling industrial nitrogen. She was an entrepreneur long before she arrived in the United States.
When she got here, she took a job with a company managing Airbnb turnovers, and learned the whole guest-turnover operation from the inside. It’s the most demanding version of cleaning there is: the property has to read like a hotel.
Two things pushed her to start her own company. She realized that what took a full day there, she could now do in three hours. And she saw how badly the people doing the cleaning — herself included — were paid.
